We have all seen the Alpine Ski Patrol Logo, Right ? Well, who knows how it came to be ? When was it designed ? Who designed it ? Who got the patches made ? What does the logo represent ? All good questions ! Lets start out with, what does the logo represent. The name is for the ski area (Alpine Mountain) , The white snow covered mountains represent A M for Alpine Mountain, The gold cross is for providing a high quality of care to the injured skier. The blue field is for clear skies to enjoy our skiing, and of course the pine trees are for the beautiful conifers we have at our ski area. The new design came to be because the owners changed our name from Timber Hill Ski Area to Alpine Mountain. The patch was designed in 1986 as a contest among the candidate patrollers seeing who could come up with the best logo. Pat Foley stepped up to the plate and took the design to a patch manufacturer to provide the patrol with the beautiful patrol patches. Also shown left is the original Timber Hill Patch. |
